HiA is now seeking to add an Operations Officer (Health Policy) to its existing policy advisory team to focus on its work in Nairobi, Kenya.
In addition to technical skills, candidates will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills.
Other requirements:
  • A Master’s degree in public health, public policy, international affairs, or business.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in policy development, private sector development, or management consulting, preferably in the health sector.
  • Proven ability to work cross-sector, with experience advising both
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages, particularly French;

1. Child Protection Advisor
Reports to the Strategic Program Support Manager.
The post holder directly manages a small national level engagement programme budget at the Country Office and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical support in the design and implementation of projects interventions that can effectively deliver the Right to Inclusion and Protection program so as to increase effectiveness of child protection mechanisms at family, community and institutional levels.
S/he indirectly works with respective Programme Coordinators.
2. Gender Advisor

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and technical support in the integration and mainstreaming gender in all the programs as well as in the organizational practices.
3. Learning Advisor 
Reports to the Strategic Program Support Manager.
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and technical support in the design and, implementation of projects interventions that can effectively deliver the Right to Quality Basic Education program.
The position holder will support development of innovations that increase opportunities for access to Early Child Care and Development (ECCD) and primary quality education especially for vulnerable groups of children

GVEP International is inviting applications for the following opportunities based in Nairobi, Kenya but working all over East Africa.
The positions are to support the Africa Regional Office in managing the ESME programme under the World Bank-administered Russian Fund.
The fund is for supporting Energy SMEs in Sub-Saharan Africa to strengthen their capacity to provide energy services to poor communities.
 
1. Renewable Energy Specialist: This is a fixed term contract to analyse projects being assisted under the programme and advise on their technical viability. Projects will be in the small hydro, solar , wind and other renewable energy technologies and the successful applicant will need to have technical expertise in these technologies;
2. SME Development Specialist: This is a fixed term contract to provide general business support and preparation for grants/ investment to SMEs in the programme. This will include, but is not limited to, working with SMEs to prepare business plans, identifying opportunities for growth, implementing expansion and operational efficiency initiatives, helping absorb and best utilise new funding and other business advisory services as appropriate.
